What is a Leadership Garden?

The answer is simple. It is a metaphor for developing the unique leadership abilities in individuals and then groups.

In gardening, the primary shoot of a plant is called a leader from which everything blossoms. Like plants we all have a leader waiting to bloom. And like a physical garden, you can produce amazing results . . . but it is up to you to plant the seeds of leadership you desire.

In one sense, a Leadership Garden allows you to plant the seeds today that will bear fruit for your family and organizations as your lasting legacy. What you plant and nurture will bloom and become self-sustaining in your garden. All generations will benefit from having your knowledge and wisdom to draw upon in the future.

However, sometimes the seeds you sow do not produce the results you want. It may be due to the condition of your garden. There are two conditions that affect the growth of all Leadership Gardens:
